The result is an eclectic island with a distinctly laid-back atmosphere that doesn't take itself too seriously. Food is a hugely important part of life here, so expect St Bart's unique take on Creole cooking with a dash more spice and zing. Tangy Accras fritters are best washed down with a feisty rum punch cocktail or three before a languid stroll along one of St Barts' fabulous beaches at sunset.
