As its name suggests, the Contemporary Core Townhome is modern and marvellously placed for skiers – only two blocks from Aspen Mountain’s Silver Queen Gondola and Little Nell chairlift, and even closer to a grocery store. Pretty much all of the ‘Aspen Core’ area’s boutique shops, wide-ranging restaurants and glamorous galleries are within a pleasant stroll, so there’s plenty to do after ski sessions or during rest days.

Talking of rest, the lounge that greets you as you enter contains a flatscreen TV, a wood-burning fireplace you’ll soon have crackling, and ample seating. Upstairs is another inviting living room, this time part of an open-plan area incorporating the dining table and a high-end kitchen with sitting space. The top-floor master bedroom has a Juliet balcony romantically facing Aspen Mountain, plus a walk-in closet, while two other sleeping quarters – one with two single beds for kids – also boast bathrooms and televisions. Additional bedding comes courtesy of a high-quality, spring-free queen sleeper.

Other amenities include a washer-dryer to quickly clean your gear, and street parking alongside a one-car garage. Fancy driving to the area’s other ski resorts? Buttermilk – whose beginner-friendly pistes neighbour The Hideout, a centre dedicated to helping children learn – and the more demanding Aspen Highlands are very close, while Snowmass’s huge, more varied terrain is about 15 minutes away.
