Perched on a hilltop at the centre of a sleepy village is the enchanting Villa II Castello – a Medieval castle boasting panoramic views of the gently rolling Tuscan countryside. Welcoming up to 14 guests, the spectacular estate boasts spacious accommodation in a rural setting, with the picturesque town of Monteriggioni an hour away by car.

The spacious living room features period artwork, antique furnishings, and fireside sofas to relax into. A second living room is augmented by shuttered windows, exposed timbers, and original stone walls, and is the perfect space for your group to socialise in the evenings. Original period features blend with contemporary décor throughout the castle – there’s even a peaceful little chapel carved into stone to discover. The welcoming country-style white kitchen charms with terracotta floors and traditional Italian tiles. Share meals in the formal dining room or relish a spot of al fresco dining under the jasmine veranda. If work beckons, head to the handsome study for some quiet time.

Six decidedly regal bedrooms await, with carved wooden beds, rich fabrics, and antique accents befitting the grand Villa II Castello. Each bedroom is accompanied by an opulent ensuite adorned with marble accents and deep soak tubs. Find sumptuous king-size beds in five of the bedrooms and two cosy twin-size beds in the sixth.

The grounds are a delight to explore, peppered with little stone stairways, shaded seating nooks, and hidden gardens. Lounge in the sun by the large private pool, or take your glass of local wine and rest in the shade of a towering Cypress tree, surrounded by the grandeur of your Tuscan villa.

Home Truths

*The villa is located in a restricted traffic zone (ZTL), making it inaccessible by car to non-residents. However, you can park in the designated free parking areas outside the zone. With prior notice, the caretaker can assist you in transferring your luggage with his vehicle. The villa is approximately a 15-minute walk, uphill, and may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
