Rendezvous Bay, Cruz Bay Quarter
Designed to combine beauty and utter tranquillity with eco-friendly practicality, Eco Serendib is a palatial paradise sleeping up to 18 guests. Nestled in the natural beauty that makes St John such a magical place, this villa provides glorious seclusion and contains everything you and your loved ones could ever wish for. Situated overlooking the gorgeous waters of Fish Bay - known for the kaleidoscope of colours the waters offer throughout the day - Eco Serendib is a scenic 90 minutes from the airport, which promises a delicious level of peace and seclusion. Yet it is still only ten minutes from the delightful, bustling town of Cruz Bay and 20 minutes from the acclaimed North Shore beaches. Once ensconced in the glory of Eco Serendib, however, you might find it difficult to leave. The onsite spa is a wonderful tribute to the soothing aesthetics of the island itself. Crafted from eco-friendly elements, such as Susan Jablon’s stunning recycled-tile mosaics, and characterised by a sumptuous skydome, the spa provides a sauna, Kohler steam shower, pedicure and manicure facilities, jet bowl and couple’s massage room all sensitively lit by adjustable lighting or even candles. Nearby is the state-of-the-art gym which is decked out with a cross trainer, treadmill, exercise bike, weights and yoga equipment. This excellent provision continues into the kitchen: a gourmet Sub Zero and Wolf designed with induction hobs, multiple ovens, a capacious granite-topped breakfast bar and even a Yamaha baby grand piano if any diner feels drawn to tickle the ivories. The grand David Rerick designed dining table is perfect for a celebratory dinner and a private chef can be provided for effortless hosting. The eight ensuite bedrooms all come with their own charms, from the balcony and sunken Kohler whirlpool tub of the sumptuous Master Suite to the privacy and delightful garden views of the Coral and Garden suites. All of the suites come complete with wonderful views, writing desks and reading nooks. Of particular note is the Spa Suite with its fabulous wall-mounted water fountains, private balcony and semi-alfresco shower and the Vista View Suite with its impressive, tall glass walls offering a full view of the bay. Finally, the Presidential Suite offers a whole little world of glamour and convenience all of its own: a private landing and hand-carved mahogany staircase, marble flooring, makeup and dressing area, kitchenette, private balcony and even a dining table ready to host a romantic dinner for two. The bathroom boasts a rare onyx counter-top, Kohler fittings and a crystal chandelier to light the breathtaking views. Back in the main part of the house, the Grand Room offers a glorious space for everyone to collect and connect. The elegant arches set the tone of grandeur and finesse the whole home evokes and the hand-blown glass sculpture by Robert Kusker will take your breath away. A widescreen TV is encased in a locally-made wall unit and the stunning photography of Steve Simonsen, which adorns the walls, add further artistic flair and beauty to the space. Outside, the Italian-esque stone pool deck, with delightful period balustrade, invites you to bask in the sun or slide into the crystal waters of the large pool. Beyond lie the orchid, fruit and vegetable gardens which fill the air with heady fragrances and colour. The emerald hills of the island roll out before you and the dazzling bay seems to caress your senses from all angles. Cocooned amidst the rolling hills, Eco Serendib is the escape you’ve always dreamed of.
