Snuggled into a manicured landscape in the desirable Leeward enclave of Providenciales is Acajou, a charming six-bedroom escape that comfortably sleeps up to 12 guests. Filled with French Creole influences and with fabulous views of the canals and beaches of this private estate, Acajou (‘mahogony’ in French), is a delightfully authentic Caribbean hideaway in one of the most spectacular locations in the Turk & Caicos islands.

Leeward is tucked away at the east end of the island of Providenciales, just a three-minute walk from the aptly-named Sunset Beach, as well as two of the world’s most celebrated stretches of sand: the iconic Grace Bay and the white sands of Long Bay Beach. This is the perfect spot for windsurfing, diving, and paddleboarding, as well as trying local dishes, such as fried conch, at the restaurants lining the waterfront.

Acajou is divided into the main villa and a separate, two-bedroom guest house, making it ideal for groups or families. Throughout, you’ll find custom furnishings in mahogany to reflect the villa’s name, giving it a wonderfully rich colonial feel accented with whitewashed walls and elegant furnishings. The indoor-outdoor transition is seamless, encouraging guests to mingle between the great room and the sun terrace. The main villa features a superb gourmet kitchen and a formal dining room, while the guest house also boasts its own kitchen and sitting room. Or dine as a group al fresco on the terrace.

The villa’s four bedrooms offer a choice of three rooms with king-size beds and one with a queen-size bed, all sumptuously decorated in a boutique style, with neutral décor accented with unique artwork and features. In the guest house, two additional bedrooms with queen-size beds and ensuite bathrooms complete the cosy and comfortable interior layout.

Outside, a solar-heated pool sparkles in the sunlight, surrounded by mature palm trees and a flawlessly manicured garden. A few steps through the garden bring you to the private dock, where you can launch the villa’s clear-bottomed kayaks or paddleboards and paddle out to the shallow ocean waters. Outdoor living includes a covered pergola and indulgent sun loungers around the pool. Acajou captures that island spirit with a liberal dash of opulence for the perfect Caribbean retreat.

    • The dock at Acajou Villa also hosts Sail Beluga, a private sail charter for up to 8 guests. Sail Beluga's guests use a separate entrance to the dock. Acajou Villa guests can enjoy discounted rates. Please inquire for more details.
