There’s just one villa on the island, meaning it’s a completely private tropical oasis. The villa can sleep four guests in two bedrooms, although it was built for two and most guests come here on a romantic getaway. There’s also an elegant open-plan living area with dark woods and floor-to-ceiling windows, a rooftop deck and a plunge pool with ocean views.

Being castaway doesn’t mean foregoing top service, either; a full team is ready and waiting to cater to your every whim. For premium privacy, they’re based on a smaller secret island nearby, and a ‘privacy meter’ will let you know when a member of staff has stepped foot on your island. All inclusive: All meals prepared by a gourmet chef, all beverages including fine wines, all activities including snorkeling, scuba diving and PADI certification, spa treatments, transfers from and to Belize City. Included in the price for a 7 day stay is a one-way 35 minute helicopter transfer over the barrier reef directly to Gladden.
