Mountain Village and neighbouring Telluride are havens for adventure seekers. Both sit side by side in the heart of the Rocky Mountains and collectively offer dozens of spectacular ski runs to match every ability. The area isn’t solely a winter destination, though. Boutique shops, numerous dining venues and a plethora of activity options – from hiking trails and horse trekking to fly fishing and river rafting – make Double Eagle a brilliant base for a getaway, no matter the season.

Whether you’re three couples craving a peaceful mountain escape or a family with lots of activities on your agenda, Double Eagle couldn’t be a more desirable place to stay. While the main appeal is its outstanding setting, the chalet also benefits from stylishly rustic interiors peppered with mahogany wood finishes, granite worktops and sleek steelwork.

Sleeping is taken care of thanks to Double Eagle’s three sumptuous bedrooms, including two king-size and one twin. Each has an ensuite and ample storage space to stash all your skiwear. The chalet’s living spaces are on the top floor to maximise the views. The country-style kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, while there is a breakfast bar for casual dining and a separate grand dining room with seating for the entire group.

On cooler nights, you’ll struggle to drag yourself away from the huge brick fireplace in the main living room. Are you staying at Double Eagle during the summer? Throw open the doors to the balcony and soak up the picture-perfect panoramas of Wilson Peak.
