In a secluded spot in the Hollywood Hills, Kimmelman House’s striking form rises from behind the palms. The impressive architecture and landscaped garden are marked by a laidback calm, but there’s also plenty to amuse those looking for a faster pace. You’ve a glittering pool, ping-pong table and canvas teepee outside, or head back through the sliding glass doors and you’ll find abstract artworks and a rainbow of books, each airy room brightened by wide-paned windows. And with the sights and sounds of the Sunset Strip just a short drive away, the living couldn’t be easier.
Your hosts are a film director and former casting director. They travelled to Los Angeles from London in search of adventure. And they found it in nature-inspired Kimmelman House, where they’ve chosen to raise their family.
The great outdoors is Kimmelman House's great inspiration, the timber walls, green-tiled bathrooms and lush houseplants mirroring the verdant views beyond the decadently proportioned panes. Gaze inwards and you’ll find tribal rugs and textured throws alongside the living area’s contemporary furniture, and the wooden shelves offer plenty more to ponder, full of cookbooks and good reads. The airy master suite is daringly open-plan, a bright ensuite with a walk-in shower behind the partition wall. While younger explorers will appreciate the sweet and cosy bedroom, playfully adorned with hanging mobiles and wise owls. And though the garden’s guest house has its own ensuite and kitchenette – designed by Bruce Bolander – with a fire pit between here and the main home nobody will want to seek solace for too long.

Home Truths
- This home is a much loved family home and you may see signs of wear and tear.
- The concrete flooring in the guest house shows some signs of wear and tear.
- This home is high in the hills and as a result cell service can be spotty at times.
- This home has an open swimming pool accessible via the main home and guest house without a fence. There is, however, an electric pool cover which is easy to use.
- The master bedroom is located in the detached separate guest house.
- Since the onefinestay photo shoot, the bunk bed in the second bedroom has been removed and now features a queen sized bed. We will be taking new photos soon.
- In the third bedroom, there is a single sized trundle bed configuration with an additional single bed which can be made up. Please let us know when you inquire with our Reservations team if you would like this set up for your stay.
- There is adult-themed art in this home.
- There is space to park four cars on the secure driveway of this home.
- The minimum stay length for this home is 10 nights.
