A little more residential than some of Manhattan’s other bustling areas, here you’ll enjoy a slower city pace. You’ll still have plenty of options for dining and socialising at your doorstep, though - between its historic homes sit a wealth of vibrant eateries and chic cocktail bars.
Among them is the gorgeous Stuyvesant Square Loft, a one-bedroom home, that much like Gramercy itself, boasts tons of individual character. Inside, original wooden floors and soaring 12-foot ceilings add a traditional feel to the open-plan sitting room and dining area. Meanwhile, the exposed brick walls and stylish furnishings drenched in a warm palette of autumnal tones add a contemporary touch.
There are many mid-century features within, too - a retro sound system sits on either side of an antique sideboard, which should give some clues to the homeowner’s profession. A talented singer-songwriter, they can often be found entertaining their friends on the home’s lovely roof terrace. Speaking of which, this fabulous terrace is a wonderful spot to sit and dine out al fresco in the lighter summer months, before retreating back indoors to the snug bedroom.
