Designed by revered Caribbean architect Micheal Oxman, and stretching itself across 7,000sqft, Marea combines the elegance of tradition with all the benefits of modernity, including a hugely impressive eco-intelligent system which recycles rainwater and ensures all of the villa’s energy is 100% green. This state-of-the-art technology runs throughout the home. The kitchen is fully-equipped with Franke sinks and Wolf appliances, whilst the Great Room boasts a 60” LED Smart TV with all the fittings and a SONOS audio system is fitted both indoors and out.

The aesthetics of Marea, however, are opulent and grand, characterised by the finest of materials creating open yet richly adorned spaces. The Great Room is fitted on all sides by custom Costa Rican mahogany accordion doors which slide back to create a wide, sweeping hall. Exquisite, handmade Italian ceramic dining ware adorns the surfaces. In the daytime, a mere tap of a button will lower blackout shades to shield the room, whilst at night the large windows provide a tantalising glimpse of the stars and island lights beyond. The five custom-designed bedrooms all face east across the sea, with promises of ocean sunrises if the mood should take you. Each ensuite is equipped with air-conditioning and a television and four of the suites boast outdoor showers and private balconies.

The real wonders of Marea, however, await outside. From the wonderful al fresco tiki bar to the raised hot tub with sweeping vistas to the cascading waterfall across beautiful local stones.
