An extravagant, extra-long infinity pool acts as Villa Imagine’s communal hub, aided by terrific hillside views over the Grand Cul-de-Sac turquoise-water lagoon and the ocean beyond. You also can admire those vistas from the adjacent muted teak deck, always warm beneath your bare feet, and its oversized sunbeds, from the covered lounge terrace, or from palm-studded private gardens bordered by tall grasses.

Inside, through wide, arched sliding doors, an open-plan layout encourages the soft sea breeze to circulate. Between sandy high ceilings and dark tiled floor, vibrant colours – crimson sofas, burgundy bean bags – lend pizzazz to the soothing lounge area, which can double as a home cinema. Equally chic is the svelte, well-equipped kitchen, complete with an espresso maker and breakfast bar. A lovely outdoor dining area can be used for other mealtimes.

All three king-size bedrooms are very private, being situated in their own separate pavilions. Opening on to terraces facing the sea or pool, they each have a roomy bathroom together with high-end entertainment systems. That works wonderfully for families or groups of friends, as does such proximity to Marigot Bay and Grand Cul-de-Sac’s soft sands and exciting watersports, plus the prestigious option of private-beach access and priority restaurant reservations at one of St Barts’ premium hotel resorts.
