This freshly redesigned period home brims with mid-century charm. You enter through the garden, into a sitting room where two purple armchairs face a brick fireplace. That leads into another sitting room – a vintage-style space with a circular dining table and a velvet sofa. Next along, just past the downstairs bedroom, is the kitchen, which has yellow cabinets and a wood-panelled breakfast nook with a table. From there, a door opens onto a patio, across which you’ll find the guest house. It has a stylish sitting room (with a plush daybed), a bathroom and a smart roof terrace with an outdoor dining table.

Back inside, a staircase takes you up to the second and third bedrooms, which share a classic bathroom. Also up here is the master bedroom – retro, with a roll-top bath beside its king-size bed, as well as a geometric-tiled ensuite with a shower.

    Home Truths

    • This is a much loved older home with vintage decor and may show signs of wear and tear.
    • Since the onefinestay photoshoot, some of the decor in the home and rooftop deck of the guesthouse has been updated.
    • There is a day bed in the downstairs bedroom, which can be set up for one person and a day bed in the separate guest house sitting room, which can be set up for two people. Please let us know when you book if you would like either prepared. There is no wardrobe in the downstairs bedroom, so we will provide a hanging rail for storage.
    • There is no central heating on the ground floor of the home, but there are several working fireplaces for warmth.
    • This home has air conditioning only on the upper floor. Please let us know if you would like to have fans on the ground floor for your stay.
    • This home accepts babies and children over six years old, but does not accept toddlers.
    • There is space for one vehicle in the designated parking spot behind the home.
    • This home is spread over multiple floors with no internal elevator.
